Iluy Neshama
לְעִלּוּי נִשְׁמַת
For someone who has passed. Their name is learned with, and the merit rises to them — an aliyah they can no longer earn for themselves.
אֲנִי לְדוֹדִי וְדוֹדִי לִי
This Elul, the Beit Midrash doesn't go quiet. Sponsor a seder of learning and a name is placed on the shtender — carried by boys who are actually learning, for someone you actually love.
The Beit Midrash is open
The month of Elul
הַמֶּלֶךְ בַּשָּׂדֶה The King is in the field — and He is close enough to speak to.
The Alter Rebbe's mashal is famous for a reason. All year the King sits in His palace, behind gates and protocol. In Elul He walks out into the field, and anyone — in work clothes, mid-harvest, unprepared — can come over and be received with a smile.
Which is exactly why Elul learning carries what it carries. Torah learned in these twenty-nine days is learned while the gates are open. When that learning is dedicated in someone's name, the merit is credited to them: an aliyah for a neshama, a zechut for a refuah, a foundation under a simcha.
Our talmidim are in the Beit Midrash through Elul: morning seder from Monday to Friday, and night seder from Monday to Thursday. Every real learning slot can carry a name.
לְעִלּוּי נִשְׁמַת
For someone who has passed. Their name is learned with, and the merit rises to them — an aliyah they can no longer earn for themselves.
לִרְפוּאָה שְׁלֵמָה
For someone who is ill. The name goes up before the seder and the boys have them in mind — a full recovery, in body and in spirit.
לִכְבוֹד · לְהַצְלָחַת
A bar mitzvah, an anniversary, a yahrzeit, a new beginning. Mark it with the one gift that keeps producing merit long after the day.

Why it works
Chazal are specific about what learning in someone's name does. Three sources worth sitting with.
כָּל תַּלְמִיד חָכָם שֶׁאוֹמְרִים דְּבַר שְׁמוּעָה מִפִּיו — שִׂפְתוֹתָיו דּוֹבְבוֹת בַּקֶּבֶר
"When a teaching is said in the name of one who has passed, his lips move with us in the grave."
Yevamot 97a
Not metaphor — mechanism. The learning doesn't merely honour them; it includes them. They are still, in the only way that matters, in the Beit Midrash.
בְּרָא מְזַכֶּה אַבָּא
"A child brings merit to a parent."
Sanhedrin 104a
The merit of Torah moves upward through relationship. A sponsorship extends that chain: your name, your intention, their aliyah — carried by boys who will never meet them.
וְתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה כְּנֶגֶד כֻּלָּם
"And the study of Torah is equal to them all."
Mishnah Peah 1:1
Of everything you could give in someone's name, the Mishnah puts this one on its own line. It is the merit that keeps producing after the giving stops.

Where it goes
It carries a name — and it funds the thing that carries it. Every rand goes into the learning programme and the Kfar trip that grows out of it.
Seforim, mekorot sheets, night seder refreshments, and the incentives that get boys back in their seats at 8pm.
Subsidises the trip that connects our talmidim to their eternal homeland — for many, the first time they daven at the Kotel.
Chavruta, iyun, a rebbe who knows their name. The kind of learning you can only meet in person.
The programme brings boys into real yeshiva learning in Israel — a serious environment, serious expectations, and Torah learned in the place it comes alive.
